THE PATH TO COP30

October 2025

COP30 in Belém represents a decisive milestone for Brazil, showcasing its leadership in global climate action and rainforest protection.

For the VBH GROUP and its Instituto Climático, participation is of strategic importance, emphasizing their pioneering role in developing Brazil’s jurisdictional carbon credit frameworks and large-scale CORSIA-compliant projects.

At COP30, Brazil will formalize national authorizations (CAs) under the Paris Agreement, enabling transparent carbon transactions on a global scale.

For VBH GROUP, this marks a key opportunity to demonstrate innovation and credibility, attract institutional investors, and strengthen its position as a trusted private-sector partner supporting Brazil’s transition toward a low-carbon economy and its global climate leadership.

CBF - RIO DE JANEIRO

July 2025

On July 8, 2025, a personal exchange took place between Helder Melillo, Executive Director of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), and representatives of INSTITUTO CLIMATICO VBH. The meeting focused on offsetting harmful CO₂ emissions generated by CBF’s national and international football operations.

INSTITUTO CLIMATICO VBH expressed its intention to support CBF’s climate strategy as an official sponsor by neutralizing all associated emissions — including those caused by fan travel, accommodation, and logistics. Initial estimates indicate that full climate neutrality would require the compensation of approximately 90,000 tons of CO₂ annually, depending on the tournament calendar and match series.

Further discussions are planned to develop a concrete implementation roadmap, underscoring CBF’s growing role in promoting sustainability in global football.

PARIS AGREEMENT 6.1

September 2025

By the end of 2025, Brazil is expected to be authorized to issue national Corresponding Adjustments (CAs) under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement—a decisive step toward global carbon market participation.

This achievement will enable Brazil to formally transfer verified emission reductions to international buyers while ensuring environmental integrity and transparency.

The ability to issue CAs positions Brazil as a global leader in carbon governance and sustainable development. At COP30 in Belém, the goal is to present Brazil’s legal and technical readiness, align federal and state frameworks, and attract strategic partnerships.

This milestone will transform Brazil into a key supplier of high-integrity carbon credits, driving investment, innovation, and forest preservation.

For the VBH Group, this represents a unique opportunity to solidify its leadership in Brazil’s carbon future.
